Privacy is not a feature of Assistiv. It is the foundation. This notice explains, in plain English, what little personal data we handle, why, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Assistiv Systems Limited is the data controller for any personal data processed through this website and its sister sites. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17082597, based in Faversham, Kent.

Our websites set no cookies, run no analytics, use no tracking, and contain no advertising. There are no user accounts and no databases of personal information behind these sites. The only personal data we routinely receive is what you choose to send us when you get in touch. Our community screening tool processes what you say transiently to produce your outputs; Assistiv does not store your responses, and nothing is shared with anyone unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Our contact forms compose an email in your own email application; nothing is submitted to a server of ours. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send: typically your name, organisation, email address and message. We use this to respond to you and to maintain a record of our correspondence. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and developing partnerships. We retain correspondence for as long as it remains relevant to an active or prospective relationship, and review it periodically.
The voice-first screening tool asks about your everyday life and interprets your responses to produce a personalised Wellness Guide and, where relevant, a structured summary. To do this, your responses are processed by Anthropic's Claude API, acting as our processor, for the duration of the conversation. Assistiv does not store your responses, does not require an account, and does not link the conversation to your identity. The outputs are returned to you. Nothing is shared with a GP, carer, commissioner or anyone else unless you explicitly choose to share it; consent is granular and can be withdrawn at any point in the conversation. The lawful basis for processing during the conversation is your consent, which you may withdraw simply by stopping. Where you choose to discuss health-related matters, that information is special category data, processed on the basis of your explicit consent.
If you use the spoken interface, speech recognition may be performed by your own browser. How your browser handles voice input is governed by your browser provider's privacy policy.
Our websites are static sites served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), which may log IP addresses for security and operational purposes as our processor. We do not access or use these logs to identify visitors. Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which involves your IP address being transmitted to Google to deliver the font files. Neither we nor these providers use this data to track you across our sites.
The intelligence layer is built entirely from published open data: NHS Fingertips, NHSBSA prescribing statistics, ONS Census 2021 and MHCLG deprivation indices. It contains no patient identifiers and no personal data of any kind. Scores describe places, never people.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of processors to operate our services: Anthropic (conversation interpretation), GitHub (hosting), and Google (font delivery). Each processes data only on our instructions and under their published terms. We will disclose information where the law requires it.
Anthropic, GitHub and Google are US-headquartered. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards: the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and equivalent contractual safeguards otherwise.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any right, email simon@assistiv.co and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We would welcome the chance to address any concern directly first.
Our websites and tools are designed for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly process children's personal data.
We will update this notice as our services evolve, and will change the date at the top when we do. Material changes — for example, if a contact form begins submitting to a server rather than composing an email — will be reflected here before they take effect.
